It’s a beautiful Sunday here in Palo Alto, Ca. and I thought I would take a little time before I enjoy the sun to give you a little insight into email marketing!

If you are building a list then you certainly will want this information on how to email your list.
Since this can block a lot of marketers when they first start I thought I would write a new ebook on the subject.

In many forums I read about how people have fear of what to say when they get a new subscriber to their list.
Some new marketers won’t even start a list because they don’t know what they would send the list!

This is a real shame!  Because it can be so easy.
You must treat a list member like a new friend.
Like someone you are just getting to know.

You want to tell them a little bit about yourself and you want to assure them that you can be trusted.
Now you are not going to come right out and say, “Hey, you can trust me.”
Rather you will do this by building a relationship with them over time.

You want to address the emails to your list as if you are speaking to ONE person. Not a stadium!

Remember there is a person at the end of that email.
You will speak casually and friendly.
Also don’t try to sell them right out of the gate.
There is a time to present an offer.

Your list is your most valuable asset and you need to respect it.
You don’t want someone shoving offers down your throat and neither does anyone else!!! We all want respect!!
Take care of your list and it will take care of you!

Hi all,
A quick update to let you know what I am up to.
First I am doing a Version Two of Ecovers Using Free Tools with more sub categories and pictures of procedure in the software programs we are using in the tutorial.
That should really help with understanding a little bit more about how to create your own ecovers!

Next I am working on the videos of this ebook so that you can see exactly step by step how to create an ecover watching the video.
If you are on my list as a subscriber you will get a significant discount on the price!!

I am really looking forward to releasing this as I feel it will really help people to see how easily this can be done and how it can bring out your artistic abilities.

Graphics are different from sitting down and trying to draw something on paper.
With graphics you get to play with already created shapes, images, buttons, bullets, arrows, etc.
And of course you can make your own, but the idea is visual design.

By adding and subtracting images you create your own ecover. It is fun and not that difficult.
And of course you can save yourself a boat load of money by doing it yourself, especially if you create a lot of your own ebooks.
Or re-package PLRs products.
It is always a good idea to create a new ecover for any new project.

Today I want to talk about Giveaways. This is an easy way for any new marketer to build a list of targeted subscribers.
What I mean by targeted is that you will be giving away something for free in the Giveaway.
It may be an ebook, a piece of software, perhaps graphics and this will brand you in that niche.

Your Autoresponder will allow you to create a new list for each thing you give away.
So you will be able to see how many sign ups or subscribers you are getting for each.

I suggest Aweber as they have the best delivery rate, meaning your emails will get to your subscribers.
This is the MOST important piece of software in your artillery as it organizes and communicates with your list.
Don’t scrimp on this! (Look for the Aweber banner on the side bar)

If you have your squeeze page campaign ready, all you do is sign up for the Giveaway, update your profile, and submit your gift into the software.

Now the reason I am sharing this today is because my friend Paul Teague is hosting his new Giveaway coming soon in April.

I have the banner on the side of the blog. It is called The New JV Talent Easter Giveaway.

The reason I recommend Paul’s Giveaway is because he is Newbie friendly. You will have videos in the back office when you log in, that will show you step by step how to put your gift in.

If you have been into Internet marketing for awhile now you may have heard of PLRs. This is information, usually ebooks,  software, graphics, etc, that you get some kind of rights to use.

You  usually get complete rights to re use the information in what ever manner you wish.

You could use parts of an ebook for example to help you to write an article on a subject. You can use the best parts of several books to create one really good ebook.

So this is what I have done in the past and like to share with people who are searching for a niche and a way to give something away to build their list.

I take between 3 and 5 ebooks on the same subject. For instance ebooks on getting traffic to your site. You could choose two or three ways and combine them into one ebook. Or you could just find what I call the “meat” of each ebook on one type of traffic method and write one excellent ebook on the subject.

This is an excellent way to get free content and write an entirely new and better book.

If you are not sure how to do this here are some steps.

1. Open Microsoft word, If you don’t have MSWord, get Open Office at openoffice.org. It’s free and works like Word.

2. Open all the ebooks that you have on the subject you want to write on. Start copy and pasting content into the Word doc. If you can’t copy and paste, then you will have to type the info. Don’t worry about organizing yet.

3. Look at the chapters in the ebooks.. pick a few that look good and rewrite them.. just add to or take away from it. Then start organizing content in groups under these chapter titles.

4. When you have it completed go download cutepdf.com. It is the software I use to turn my word docs into PDF files. You will need to do this to upload your new ebook to your hosting. Click on print and choose cutepdf. It will turn your doc into a pdf.

Yeah.. now you have an ebook!!!

5. Now you need a cover. Get my ebook http://www.ecoversusingfreetools.com It will show you how to create an ecover using free tools!!

6. You can add a picture of the ebook cover into your doc file on page one.  Look at one of my ebooks for an example. You can download them from this site.

So now you have a “new” ebook to put into your squeeze page and promote/drive traffic to.

Remember, you are giving something away for free in return for a name and an email address. YOU are building your list.

Your goal is to build your list by giving away something of value.   Giving more things of value to your list,  then selling things of value to your list.

Always keep the goal in mind.

The last tip I want to share is a mind trick.

When I am thinking of creating a new ebook, I will create the ebook cover first. It makes me think the book is already written. Just seeing the cover is inspiration to write it.  The book writes itself.

Open your word doc and click on insert image. Put the completed ebook cover picture on page one. Then your name under it as author.  It looks like you have written the ebook already!!!! Try it and see for yourself!!

What do YOU need to make money online? To create a business that will create the kind of income you need to make to leave your real world job?

Business online is really an easy thing to create if you know the steps. Even if you have no niche, knowing how to set up a marketing campaign to create a targeted list of potential buyers is key to everything.

But most people are not sure what they want to do online so the pendulum swings back and forth and no thing gets done.. nothing.

What do you think you need to make money online? You need a way to market something to someone who may be interested in your product.

Most people create a website with a product for sale on it then try to drive traffic to it. Or they do affiliate marketing and create a wonderful website with great products  then again try to drive traffic to it.

This is backwards for today’s market. This might have worked several years ago, but not so much in today’s market.

What you need to do is create a list and you do this by giving away something of value, mostly information, in exchange for a name and email address.

Now most of us in Internet Marketing are familiar with this type of list building.

We have been to Giveaways and signed up for free ebooks, software, graphics, etc.

This is exactly how some marketers are building their lists.  The seeker  gets a lot of great free stuff and keeps looking for that quintessential way to create income online.

A lot of these ebooks and resources have some useful information in them but don’t quite tell the whole story. And there is a whole story. And……it’s simple once you know the answer.

There are three things you need to do to make money. Just three.. here they are.

1. Give away something of value in exchange for a name and email address. This creates your list.

2. Nurture your list with more free things of value. A free ebook, piece of software, marketing tip, etc. You are building trust and a relationship with your list.

3. Sell to your list even more things of value. The key word here is value. Over deliver every step of the way.  Brand yourself as giving value!!

Let’s recap.

Give something away, nurture, sell.

Most people see internet marketing as a difficult task, but once broken down into a few steps it becomes easy.

Seeing the process is key.

Then execute it by learning the mechanics.

The “HOW TO”.

Next week I will talk about how to side step finding your niche by creating products with other resources.  Sometimes this method also leads to you finding a niche.
